Project Abstract

Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often have difficulty communicating with their families as well as with the people around them. One way for children with ASD to communicate without relying on speech is to use the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) method. In this study, we will develop an Arabic Tablet Java App for children with ASD to improve their socio-adaptive behaviors and social responses using PECS. We will use pictures and audio as tools to improve children’s communication skills, such as asking and answering questions and having conversations, to make it easier for them to have social interactions.
